Early W113 Beauty Rings.
« on: May 16, 2011, 22:08:09 »
I e-mailed the Museum/Classic Center in Germany inquiring about Slotted Beauty Rings for the  W111 Coupe.  My question to them was, did MB ever make a 14 inch slotted wheel ring like those on the early 60's 220 models, which were for 13 inch rims.  Their comment back to me was only on the early W113 Pagodas.   If this is true then 14 inch slotted wheel rings may be available.  Anyone got any, or have a source?  Sounds fishy to me though.  My reason for pursuing this is that I think the two piece hubcap and slotted wheel ring look so much better than the solid beauty ring and hubcap that came on my W111 Coupe.  Thanks, Larry

I have a 112 cabriolet, it has the 13" slotted beauty ring also.

No Larry, never!

The 230 &250 SL always had the separate 14'' beauty ring, which is not slotted. From prototypes and pre-production cars on.
Only 13'' and 15'' were available with the slotted design which attaches to the hubcap.
