Alternator connector on the engine, correct location?
« on: April 03, 2011, 06:54:00 »
Hello,

There's a connector on the engine, 3 way, screw-type, between alternator and engine harness.
It is on a bracket which, on my 130.983 engine is attached with a screw which is between sump and aluminium lower casing. Alternator is removed on this picture, and sorry, the thing is still greasy!

I have a spare 130.980 engine (hence out of a sedan) on which said bracket is bolted between aluminium lower casing and engine block.

Neither looks as if factory original, what is the correct location?
thanks,
Didier

Hello Didier,
one of the best places to look for location of engine parts is Brian Peters' web site.
Here are two examples showing the location of the connector on a car with a/c and without a/c.
Let us know if you need more info.

Ok, it seems my connector is not so bodged.
Thanks Alfred!
Didier.

66andBlu,
please tell me who Brian Peters is and how to get to his website. I need some good engine pics for referencing my '70 280 4-speed.
Thanks.
Ricardo
