Carpet Material
« on: July 11, 2011, 23:41:08 »
I just spoke to a carpet dealer who said square weave was used only on early cars 230/250.
Can anyone confirm this, I thought they were all supposed to be square weave.
Thanks
Kay

some later 250sl's and all 280sl's had loop------230 sl and most all 250sl's had square weave--------I just put down loop in my 250sl because they don't have cognac or bamboo in the squareweave. The square weave colrs were somewhat limited. To me, the square weave is a much richer look. It is wool if I remember correctly.

I would concur, and remember, the early cars also had rubber mats in the foot wells and not carpet. (I think these are available, but have not checked) Carpets on the tran tunnel, sills, behind the seats and the cargo shelf area.
