you're referring to the optional HELLA foglamps. i think bob geco has a pair on his car, so i'll let him comment on the installation.

I have Hellas on my car. They are about 5 or 6 inches in diameter.
They are mounted via holes in the bumpers in a position near the outter most portion of the grill opening. The lamps have a post and retaining nut for mounting. Mine are wired to a toggle switch mounted below the dash on the left side of the steering wheel.
The original owner actually had Lucus square 8's on the car. These are the rectangular lamps as seen on Shelby mustangs of the 60's. The shape of these lamps did not go with the car, so I found a pair of period Hellas. My preference would be for no fog lamps, but I would need to find new bumpers without holes and at about $40 for the pair of Hellas, the lamps and existing bumper saved me at least a grand.
I don't have photos, but will try to take some and see if I can figure out how to post them.

Regards,
Stan

you should be able to find a set pretty easily on either ebay or from a salvage yard. they used the same foglamps on 114 coupes & sedans, among other cars, so you'll frequently see them for sale when people are parting cars out.

Hello,
I believe that these cars used either a Hella or Bosch foglight. They are nearly identical. I have one each mounted on my "69" 6.3 sedan and they look like an identical pair. These were available as options on the W 108 and W109 sedans and coupes. The later W114 chasis cars had a Hella lamp which was different than the earlier versions. I can take a digital photo of these three types if anyone needs it.

my apologies. i had thought that the foglamps on my '73 W 114 were the same as those on a W 113, but joe says differently. i defer to joe on this one.

Hello Doug,

These 114 foglights are very similar. They may be a plentiful source for nearly original substitutes?

Could someone post pix of their foglamps, please? I'd like to see what the originals looked like up close. Thanks in advance.

Hello Doug,
The later W114 fog lights may be correct for the later W113 SL's. The earlier W113 Sl's may have used another version since the W114 sedans were introduced in 1968.
