Help with fuel injector wrench source
« on: August 03, 2011, 01:42:44 »
I have absolutely no luck with the search function. Hope someone with better search skills or memory can help.

Sometime earlier this year someone posted a link to a source for an offset 19mm end wrench (I think it was 12 pt) that could be used to loosen or keep the injectors in place while loosening the lines. Then it turned out these were available from a number of sources. Of which I can find none.

Can anyone help.

Gus

Yes, that was me. Hope you are now enjoying quiet conversations and unruffled hair in your top down rides.

I appreciate your reply, but I'm still hoping for the link. That way I can click to buy. No phone calls, no descriptions.

Thanks much

Gus, I KNOW you know how to do this...

http://www.asttool.com  Assenmacher
http://www.baumtools.com  Baum
http://mercedesengines.net/  Metric

That last link isn't a "tool store" but our friendly "Metric Motors" rebuilder.  That's what Tom Mrowka spoke of however.  If you don't want to speak with anyone you can easily be put on the path to finding the wrong thing at the wrong price, particularly for something a bit obscure.  Tom's suggestion was good: call them.  At least, you have links to send emails too...

http://www.asttool.com/detail_page.php?from_search=y&tool_number=H%204550&total=55&offset=36&stype=bymanf&manf=Mercedes  Is it possible this is the tool you are looking for?

Baum has it listed, and Samstag is a big Hazet dealer as well...

Thanks all, but still no joy. I need a 19mm wrench for the injectors. I had a situation where the fuel line fitting would not loosen, but the injector started to turn and continuing would have twisted the line.. This wrench would keep the injector from turning while additional torque is applied to the line fitting.

This is resolved now, but I want to be prepared for next time.

This was like a flarenut wrench but with one face extended to reach down and wrap around the injector.

Again, thanks

Gus

Hi Gus,
you sure have an expensive taste!  ;)  That "wrench" will only set you back by $94.  :o
Available from http://www.samstagsales.com - search for "Elora 775L-19".

If you just want to prevent the injector from turning while you remove the fuel line I think a cheaper 19mm crowfoot should work too.
Samstag will sell you one made by Stahlwille (540-19) for $56,
or you can buy one from Snap-on for $20:
