cushion on outside of fuel tank filler.
« on: August 12, 2011, 17:28:49 »
This cushion goes around the filler neck and snugs up against the back of the rear panel where the neck comes out of the sheet metal.

Where can I find out what this material is made of or where can I find a replacement?

It appears to be foam that has been applied from an expanding can, like some insulation material.

Any info would be appreciated. thanks

You should be able to source this from the usual suspects, K&K, Millers, Buds Benz. I replaced mine some years back and it was actually fairly easy.
Gas filler neck grommet - $32 at Millers. K&K does not show one, Buds has one shown, but no price.

This is actually a collapsible gasket that seals the floor of the trunk from the outside by squeezing it between the trunk floor and the top of the gas tank.

I got mine at K&K, but I think an enterprising chap could make one out of closed cell foam.
