Use of matt black paint on bodyshell
« on: October 06, 2011, 13:05:35 »
When I took my car apart the area around the front grill and parts of the screen pillars and dash top were painted matt black. I know the grill area is to ensure a uniform black look through the grill and I assume that the interior parts are similarly painted to mask any trim gaps otherwise allowing body colour to show through. As my car originally had black trim which I have now changed to red leather I am wondering if the interior matt parts are always black or if they should be trim colour which means I should now use matt red, does anyone know?

David,

Always black independent from the interior color.
See also pics or original untouched cars, e.g. on motoringinvestments home page.

Thanks Achim, I kind of thought it should be but then got cold feet and wasn't sure. I think I'll be looking at the motoring investments photos quite a bit as I but mine back together.
