Wood preservation

What products can be applied to interior wood to help protect against UV and other environmental degradation?  Are there any wood-specific waxes that one should use?

A couple of winters ago I overcoated all my wood with three layers of marine varnish with only a very light scratching before and between coats.  Marine varnishes have UV inhibitors in them.

I can testify....Doug thought I should do some work on my wood, until he aplied some lemon oil....
Now people ask me if I redid the woods...hehehe...and the answer is NO!! All original.
Just had a friend (Mr K. from NYC?) apply lemon oil with me.

Be careful with any type of oil on wood surfaces . if the finish is'nt in perfect shape , it can seep between cracks in the finish and the wood cousing spotting  . this  is what has happened to many fine antiques . auction houses recommend fine furniture wax. but I'm not shure in the case of the wood in these cars try a small area.                                                                                                                                                      best regards.
