Hose from Clutch Reservoir to Metal Tube

My 250 SL (Chassis 004542) has (...had) a flexible hose connecting the plastic reservoir to a piece of metal tubing which goes to the clutch master cylinder. The hose is about 3.25 inches (8.25 cm) long with an I.D. about 0.225 inches (5.7 mm). I ordered a hose from Miller's (P/N 29-2074) but it is only 1.5 inches long or so. Can someone tell me the proper hose? Could I just use a piece of fuel line at the local auto parts store? Thanks, Barry

Hi, Barry,
I had that short hose which was OK on my 230.
It was too short for the 280. I used a piece oh rubber hose similar to the one running from the radiator to the header tank.
I guess fuel hose should be OK too.

Thanks Naj. Gates provided a nice answer to the question which I've attached here.
