113 meeting

This morning I had the pleasure of meeting Naj Jesani and his brother. They travelled by ferry from Newcastle in England and over to Kristiansand on the southern tip of Norway were I live. They are participating in a Classic Travel event driving up through most of Norway, then south through Sweden, and then the ferry back home. Total distance 3000 miles!
I got to pick Naj’s brain for one hour but should have had several days. It was great to discuss the 113 with somebody that knows so much about them.

Good to see faces with names and to know that Naj's car is getting some nice long distance exercise.

I guess the other car in the first photo previously lived in the USA.

Yes, Richard. It was imported from Florida 2 1/2 years ago by the previous owner.

I wonder how many Pagodas were imported back from the US to Europe. My car is like that plus I am sure hundreds more in the Netherlands (and we're talking a small country!). This could mean that, today, less than half of the surviving Pagodas are in the US when originally about half did go there. Unless the 'mortaility rate' was much greater in Europe and other countries, than in the US so that in time, more than half of the cars were living in the new country. That plus a language factor would help explain why most of the members here do live in the US.
