Blower Motor Removal
« on: May 06, 2012, 12:41:59 »
I'm a newbie to the site & I'm sure this is an old question, but I can't seem to find the answer. I have a '67 250SL & I need instructions for the removal of the blower motor. I already have the glove box & clock out but I still don't get it. Any help?!

Hi--

There are two screws above into the blower plenum. They are more or less accessible.

The tough one is below, centered, attaching a bracket to the top of the transmission tunnel. To get this one removed, you need to reach inside the transmission tunnel to hold the nut while removing the screw/bolt from above the transmission tunnel. I recall that I went into the transmission tunnel with a small pair of vise-grips, clamped them on the nut, and then focussed on removing the bolt from above. Also, rust and grime on the nut and bolt threads don't help when turning the bolt.

Good luck....
