Automatic gear box reverse giong forward
« on: May 30, 2012, 19:20:21 »
Hi there,

I am restoring my second Pagoda, but her=ar I am getting stuck. I have dismantled and put back and automatic gearbox on a 280SL. Could someone explain to me how it is possible that when I engage the reverse gear, the car goes forward? Anything electrical? I have set the lever correctly though.

Thanks,

Didier

Hello,

Most likely you have the linkage to the transmission mis-adjusted.  Also if you replaced the plastic bushing on the lever on the side of the transmission, make sure you have put it into the correct hole.
