w113 vs SLS AMG Gullwing

   Living in Southern California it is no surprise to pull up to all types of exotics at any given stop light.  The surounding neighborhoods have no shortage of SLS gullwings and roadsters.  I have had no such luck locating the money tree on my property.  I pulled up to a light in DelMar CA in my pagoda and two lanes over was an SLS AMG.  I was admiring the car when a lady pulled up  between us and rolled down her window to comment.  She made me smile when she said she liked the pagoda over the SLS stating it had such a classic look.  She even followed me into the parking lot to ask a few questions.

  I realize our cars often won't win this showdown but it was nice and I thought I would share

Interesting story!

When my wife and I lived in Boca Raton, FL we would dine at some of the higher end restaurants for a treat. Invariably, the valets would park our 113 "up front" often displacing a car worth 10 times more. One night it was a Rolls, two Lamborghini's, an Astin-Martin and two Bentley Continental GT's with the Pagoda closest to the door attracting all of the attention. There is something to be said about a well-desgined car that has literall stood the test of time.
