Only one cable, your fault lies within the speedometer.

Common problem, happens to all the VDOs in whatever brand car. Has to do with a gear slipping on a shaft. Pull the guage and have it repaired. Locally if possible. The California guys are getting a little too big for their britches (read that $$$$$)

We fix them ourselves. Some people glue the gear to the shaft but I like to make the shaft fit into the gear better.

Hate to hijack this convo, but it's the complete inverse for me - odometer works perfectly fine but the speedometer doesn't work.  Before I go through the hassle of removing and sending this out this winter, is it safe to assume that it's the gauge itself and not some sort of cable issue?

Thanks,
Dom
