Rubber Guides for Fuel and Brake Lines Along Undercarriage
« on: October 11, 2012, 14:08:35 »
I am a fairly recent purchaser of a 1971 280 SL (built January 1971) and have it in for its first visit to the mechanic for a check up.  He has indicated that he would like to replace the fuel and brake lines running  along the undercarriage at some stage, and he noted that some of the parts are NLA form MB.  In particular, he showed me the 4-slot rubber guides through which the lines run and told me that the only one he has found are 3-slot ones from earlier Pagodas.  I believe the part number for the 4-slot guides that are NLA was 111-476-00-81.  Tom Hanson at the Classic Center advises that there is a different 4-slot rubber guide that "...will probably work ok..."  part number 109-476-03-84.

Does anyone have a source for the original/correct type of guide, or any other comments?

Thanks in advance.

Regards
John

I replaced all 3 lines on my 66 a few years ago.

I ordered new rubber and brackets from K&K.
When I received them I don't remember if they were in mb packaging or not.

I would contact K&K, Millers and maybe even Gernold at SL Tech.  Someone may be inventory on what you need.
