Front end alignment
« on: October 21, 2012, 12:58:16 »
I assume with the toe-in correctly set and the steering wheel properly centered that the left and right tie rods are exactly the same length.Need to do a rough adjust ment after doing some front end work including tie rod replacement.  Is this correct. Also, anyone in the Ft Myers Florida area know of any shops that can properly do a front end alignment on our vintage of Mercedes? Reluctant to take it to anyone that does not understand the quirks of the MBs such as correct use of the steering box centering bolt and do not want to get into a discussion with a tech where it appears I'm trying to tell them how to do their job--we all know how that goes most of the time..

The way we did ours was called a few places and asked if they already had the setting of w113 in their computer if not you can get them the numbers from this forum most places will do it as they are adding more types of cars to their repair system for future jobs.
Having a service manual in hand does helps them alot.
