Lucked out
« on: November 14, 2012, 03:32:51 »
I drove my Pagoda 1967 230 to my summer home upstate NY last june and used it up there all summer, I was going to bring it back to Howard Beach NY for the winter but the day I wanted to drive it back was stormy so I decided to leave it up there in the garage for a few more weeks . Then 2 weeks later sandy hit 3 feet of seawater in the garage 7 feet in my basement -nightmare - my wifes benz dead sons suv dead but my Pagoda lives on tucked away in the adirondacks

then again each dead pagoda increases the value of the remaining cars!  Just replaced the 14 gallons I siphoned out to survive the post sandy gas crisis,

When I was watching the news about Sandy they showed some footage of storm damage. I think this was near Atlantic City and right there, half covered with sand, was a pretty nice looking red 190SL. Just wondering if anyone else saw that too?

I can't imagine all that sand would be a good thing inside every little place it could go but I'm sure someone will sort it out.

I see tradjim self-highjacked his own thread.

I'm glad you have a shining light in this difficult time. Good luck with the rest of your storm issues, It is fantastic news that your Pagoda was saved.
