Out in the real world
« on: March 02, 2013, 22:17:45 »
It was a nice day here today, mid 70s (24c) so my wife and I thought we would get out and enjoy the sunshine in our Pagoda. While out she said would be OK if we run down the hill and get a few groceries. So, off we went down to the "Big City" as in Lots of cars and Lots of traffic! I stood guard in the parking lot while she shopped on the lookout for wary shopping carts. Afterwards, stopped for gas at Costco and lunch at In and Out. A fine day was had by all and our car is safely tucked away unscathed with another 60 miles on the odometer:-)

John don't you think yourself a bit careless parking so close to those 'other' cars?

Nice photos as usual, keep them coming

I park on the centre line, that way I know I have at least half a car between me and anything else if i am in a big parking lot and normally well away from others.  Some don't like it but better than having kids throw open doors onto you car.

Could not resist a few photos today out and about here in SoCal. Went to Home Depot on my way to local brewery. Parked next to a very nice Chevy Nova.

I don't know Jon, looks like you are parked mighty close to that Chevy:-)  Clouds and few sprinkles around today so glad we had our ride in yesterday. And let me add that is one good looking 280SL you have.

talking about parking our cars on public parkings: in the US (and probably in Canada too) you have the advantage of having generous spaces for each parking spot, so that the modestly shaped Pagoda is quite safe even if parked close to another car. In Europe, my impression is that parking spaces are designed for small Minis and Fiats, which poses concrete threat for the pampered parts of our Pagodas here :(
