Engine Number on Datacard - Mistake?
« on: March 13, 2013, 20:54:35 »
Dear All,

Before I get to my MB dealer with this: please kindly see the engine number on my Datacard. It has "0" where it should say "3". It does say "3" on the engine itslef.

What do you think - mistake? Something else wrong?

Best,
Paweł

It might be better if you make your keynumbers invisable...........

European version, no MB-Tex, Dortmund or Cologne delivery (I believe Dortmund). No softtop.

Hello Pawel,

Very strange indeed.  ???
I'd guess it is a misprint since the serial numbers of the chassis and your engine match pretty well with each other.
On the other hand you find your correct 130983 engine number with the given engine serial no. in your car (matching numbers); thus, your engine is correct and the datacard is not.
The reason is that humans did type the info onto it; and they sometimes ... very rarely ... make errors ... :o ;)

 ;)

Thanks for the tip on the key number!

Achim,

Dortmund.

Thanks! That is what I would think (priceless Technical Manual!!), but wanted to see what more experienced colleague would say...

I will ask MBC - let's see what they will say, even just for the fun of it!

Thanks again!
Pawel
