I have a 1966 250s and would like to know how to remove the rear view mirror without breaking or damaging the mount.
Thanks

On my '280' it pops out. Designed to pop out in an accident I think.
You may need a little force but it should just pull out.

My 230 pops out the same way, Larry so I am guessing the same is true for 250's.

Years ago, I had a front end accident in my old 250 SL and my passenger's hand flew up and hit the mirror. Popped right off like it was supposed to do.

I just took mine out last week...pretty easy. Just grab it, twist and pull with a firm grip. Yanks right off.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
the rear view mirror is only clamped and needs to be clenched.

Thanks I will try that.
I want to take it to have the mirror glass replaced.
