Axle boot clamp - can anyone help with the PN?
« on: April 15, 2013, 15:54:09 »
So the saga of my rear axle continues. This time I can't find a clamp for either side of the rear axle boot. Walking around Essen with Tom Colitt, he pointed out that the original Beru-style split/cotter pin clamp with the associated metal band is still available. That would be correct for the car, clearly. However, I would prefer a stainless steel clamp and something that looks/feels a little more robust and won't rust; it is for that reason that I don't want to use a standard worm screw jubilee clip, in which I have little faith. There was a refurbished axle 3,25 (I think) axle for sale at Essen. It had the clamp I'm after on it, but I cannot find one for the life of me either in the UK or Germany. I have posted a picture below.

If anyone knows where I can get one of these, or if there's an MB part number (spent a frustrating 30 mins at my local dealers today unable to find any part numbers for the clamps on the axle boot) then I'd be grateful. Alternatively, if I have to go down the 'proper' route, is there an MB part for the Beru-style clamps?
