Oil gauge going up and down
« on: April 29, 2013, 23:58:06 »
Okay so what does it mean when your oil gage is at 45 then decides to go to 30, sits for a little and then goes to zero, sits for a bit and then goes back to 45?

Thanks

Ouch.Dont drive the car anymore till you find out what is going on.
Could be the oil pump is bad.
Does the engine stumble a bit when the pressure fluctuates?
Maybe the distributor drive is bad as it operated the oil pump simultaneously.
Others will chime in with other suggestions.

Sounds like your low on oil.  Have you checked the level?

Low oil, I'm an idiot. Wouldn't think that would make the gage move while driving.  But apparently all it was.
