Last week my son and I visited the Louwman Museum in the Hague, where they have a number of Silver Arrows race cars on exhibit, until the 3rd of february 2013. Enclosed a few pictures, more can be seen here. Apart from the Silver Arrows, mr Louwman has put together an amazing collection of cars that do the London-Brighton run, and are eligible for the Mille Miglia. Important Lagonda's, Bentley's, Bugatti's, Alfa Romeo racing cars (6C1500, 6C1750, 8C2300), some amazing original Mercedes-Benz cars... it's all there.

It is great, because they allow you to take photographs with a tripod or with a flash... all of these were taken with a tripod at shutterspeeds of 1/2 to .125 seconds.

Here is a quick sample. I took over 190 photographs in all.

Peter

Great pictures,
Unfortunatly I am not due in Holland until later in the year.

Interesting two cars are Right Hand Drive - Was there any competition reason for this ?

I have heard and read nothing but good things about this place. I hope to visit this summer when I am in Europe in June (going to LeMans)

I pass by this museum every day on my way to work in The Hague. It is a wonderful place, displays are well thought-out, and the collection is large and impressive. Worth a trip and you could easily spend a couple of days going through it ... if you are a car fanatic.  As an American, many of the cars in this museaum were unfamiliar to me, which made it all the better. As an aside, the American architect Michael Graves designed the building ... not that noteworthy on the exterior (it was designed to look Dutch and blend into the wooded setting, which it does), but it is excellent inside where it counts, good use of natural light, etc.

I did make it to the museum in June, and it is indeed worth seeking out. I did not realize Graves was the architect. It helps to explain the wonderful use of space inside. Just Excellent!
