15" BUNDT alloys
« on: December 25, 2009, 21:38:27 »
Hello All and Happy Xmas
Is anyone using these 15" alloy BUNDT type wheels on their car?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4-Mercedes-Benz-Classic-BUNDT-Alloy-Wheels-15-X-7_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem414bad8c27QQitemZ280442539047QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories.

They are 15 by 7 with a 25 offset.
I would like to know if anyone is using these rims with no issues.
I am not actually planning to use this particular wheel but would like to be sure that this rim and offset work quite well on the W113 car (my partly experimented guess is these should work) . I am presently adjusting another 15" rim with a 37 offset and was planning to adjust it to a 27 offset.

Thanks Mark

Very nice (with the exception of the oversized "3.5" on the glove box door)

Check this page of the Wiki: http://www.sl113.org/wiki/WheelsTires/Alloys

Maybe Hatch made some changes to fit them, maybe they'll just fit. If they don't I'm sure you can sell them again for good money!

Hello,
Thanks Naj, Hauser
I read that part in the Technical manual  " FUCHT 15 x 7 x 25 offset not yet confirmed to work on W113".
The pictures of the Hatch car are encouraging for me as it kind of confirms what I thought, ie. the wheels should work.
I have set it up on my restore car and can see that with this offset there is plenty of room on the fronts.
The rears seem to pretty much fill the wheel arch and will come near to flush with the outside of the flared arch.
I like this look as seen on the last couple of pictures on the grey Hatch car. Since my car is not yet on the road, it is difficult for me to ascertain the final position on the rears as I cannot get the rear axle to sit at its correct angle.

I kind of doubt that Hatch would have modified the set up of hub to wheel relationship since the only sensible adjustment available would be to reduce the offset even further, pushing the wheel even further out.
It is unlikely that they would have adjusted it the other way since you would have to take material off the wheel or adjust the hubs.

I would like to hear if there is anyone else running with these wheels?

please hurry up and sell those 14 by 6 alloys - I am so..... tempted. but I have already invested in going down the route of trying to create the 15" alloy/hubcap combination

Psychic link.  When you were posting this I was at Pep Boys buying more cleaners for the wheels because round 1 of cleaning didn't look good enough.  If it's warm, I'll clean wheels again tomorrow and then take them to the wheel shop for testing on Monday.  Then they (8   6" x 14"  and 5   5 1/2" x 14") should be ready to go!!!!

Sorry to come into this so late ( 4years) but  I have just started using the forum
and noticed that the car pictured by Naj is mine, KAW795E.
If it helps anyone else they fit without modification on mine but the link pipe
between the exhaust boxes is very close which might touch on another car so would
need to be adjusted.
I am also using John Olsen springs which are 3/4 " lower, I don't know if this makes
a difference one way or the other.
