I am Paul Bracq, I am a car carroserie artist, I started to work for BMW in the early 70’s until 1974 at BMW the time at BMW is very dear to me. It is a very nice saying “Freude am Fahren” This car the 5er Grand Torino GT shows this tradition, it is a sporty car and very comfortable also very dynamic. Much room for your knees. You have ample space and nevertheless this sporty feeling!
One feels right away that this car is designed from the inside to the outside with the comfort of the passenger in mind. As I mentioned “Freude am Fahren” all around so should this be!
I started with the first 5er in the early 70s the idea at the time was to stretch the lines, however, not too aggressive. And the kidney design smooth lines and it had to remain a BMW (as he touched the logo on the hood). A car needs to have a signature. When one works for a company like the well known BMW, one needs to respect the past designs, this means, what has been the tradition of the past. A car is a piece of art in motion!
This is for me the main point. This car (the red ///M1) I developed from one end to the other inside out, including the wheels. Timing was very short, I only had 6 months! It had to be a fabulous car and we pulled it off. It was the first concept car ever made by BMW. Time was on my side the form stayed modern.
No one knows that my wife is always part of it, she criticizes and is always by my side. She also loves cars.
Look here the stretched lines have always been part of the 5er (as he touchers the fender) this is a bit more modern, as it already was in the 70s on the original 5er. I like the concave door handles, the short back end and this very sporty line. This is for turing a great development!

This is a very nice 5er ... 40 years later I sit in this car and I am very satisfied and delighted from this car.
