Trunk floor replacement
« on: July 31, 2013, 00:28:25 »
Sorry if this is a basic question. Doing the trunk part of my body work. The new floor will be put in place with some adhesive/welding in tomorrow. The old floor and others I have seen have a circular plastic piece near the middle of the floor. However my new floor from MB did not have this piece, just an empty circle. Just wondering what this piece is and what purpose it serves.  Should I just take the one off the old piece and apply it to the new panel? Is this what other people have done.

It's access to the fuel tank sender unit. Make sure you leave it there!

Yes definitely was not going to cover it with anything. I just wanted to know if the piece was hard to come by and should take off the original or if it is easily found elsewhere
