Look what fell off the back of a truck
« on: August 03, 2013, 13:23:49 »
I'm new around here and I just posted in the "Introductions" sticky but since you all have a Photo thread i'd thought I'd post here too. Hope you don't mind the double post.

I have just "inherited" a very nice '67 250SL from my father. His is wife purchased it back in the '70s. He's got a few other cars and he's asked that I take care of it. This is my first Mercedes but not my first German car.  I'm also a bit partial to Italian motorcycles as you can see from the pictures.  I'm looking forward to participating here on the forum.

Regards,
Jeff

Welcome Jeff, nice looking car! All important information is here, and just ask if you can't find something. Nice Ducati's also.

Hey, Glad to see some Pelican's here too.  Haven't done much to the car over the last few weeks. Some cleaning and joy rides with the neighbors. I've had to do some big work on the Porsche.  I went to the Geneva IL Concours d"Elegance and say only one other Pagoda. Decent showing from the Chicago MB club.  I zipped over on the Duc not really knowing what the gig was for the event. Next year will certainly bring the 250.

Jeff,

Welcome to the Forum

This is what a Ducatti 900 looks like after an Australian bush fire goes thru your property.  Brothers 60th present to himself lost to fire a couple of years ago.

Holy Cow! I had to look at that a couple of times before I picked it up. That had to be a pretty hot fire.

When a bush fire goes through, it tends to burn or melt everything including fancy alloy bikes and even cars tend to partially melt. Makes for a good art wall talking point ;D
