Shipping Costs on Classic Parts Center vs Dealer

It was mentioned that the Mercedes dealerships can order us parts from the classic center division of Mercedes. If they do, will they charge extra for shipping?  Other parts at dealerships have the shipping included in the parts price.  I know we "supposedly" get a club discount through the classic center, but I do know that they charge for shipping. It's not cheap by any means. It seems that the shipping price would override any cost savings, if the dealers do not charge for shipping.  Does anyone have any comments on this topic, to help educate me on this subject.

I've ordered parts from my local dealer and it doesn't matter if the part comes from the closest distribution center in New Jersey, or one of the other distribution centers across the USA, Germany, or the USA Classic Center, I have never seen an added cost for shipping.

The classic center charges shipping if they ship the parts from the classic center to you.  They do not charge the shipping from Germany to the classic center.  The classic center is technically just another Mercedes dealership.   They use Fed-Ex ground and pretty much ship at cost.  Are you saying a local dealer will ship to you ?   You can compare Classic Center prices to other "on-line" Mercedes dealers - try googling "trademotion Mercedes" and you will get other MB dealers that have an on-line parts order system.  Be advised that their systems will be inaccurate on parts availability.  They will indicate a price for something that is NLA in some instances.  But for something that we know to exist, their prices and Classic Center prices can be compared, then factor in the sales tax from each (depends on where you live) and shipping to where you live (also depends on where you live)

No, I'm not saying the part would be shipped to my house, I pick up the ordered parts at my local dealer.
