The original planned round trip was to be some 2,509 KM (1,559 Miles) we will not talk about the actual miles ~grin~ What is important is that we had a marvelous time and arrived safely back home.
My little car performed flawlessly except for 2 minor mishaps. On Sunday last when I wanted to put the roof down it got stuck and with the help from Joe Alexander and his dad we got it unstuck (my bad for not locking the rear section of the roof properly before lowering it in the storage area). Thank you Joe and all others that helped out in the hotel parking lot! The second minor issue surfaced when it started to rain on the way back home. My passenger side windshield wiper went on strike. Since I packed a set of metric wrenches this issue was quickly resolved.
On the way back home I stopped at Niagara Falls (having taken the shorter route back home ~ see map below) It was shortly before dark allowing for a quick photo shoot.
I like to share with you the top up and top down photo shoot. Be sure if you ever come up north or north east this way not to miss this pretty part of North America.
Note the Falls in the background at the American side.
When I took those photos I was reminded of my first ever visit here around 50 years ago. I had set up
somewhere near by on the lawn a Hibachi BB and made myself a nice steak. Two Canadian Mounted Police
stopped by and told me politely to extinguish the BB leave once I ate my steak
This of course would not
be tolerated today. In fact the parking space cost $5- for 30 minutes ... less then I once paid in NYC
