Powder Coating Air Filter Canister
« on: November 30, 2013, 00:23:09 »
I just took some parts into get powder coated and the owner of the shop had some concern with how the Air Filter Canister is held together. He thought it might be silver soldered and was worried that the bake oven would melt the solder.
My question is this:  Has any one had their Air Filter Canister powder coated and did they encounter or have this anticipated problem presented to them?

Thanks

Gil

Dear Gil,

No problem at all.
The airintake filter cannister is made completely of steel & the lower part is only welded/pressed together.

Got already two of those coated - works fine.  :D

However, this is not possible with the overflow coolant tank.
That one _is_ soldered together and will fall apart during the baking process.
