I need to re chrome the main windscreen pillars.  How do you remove them please??

Assuming you mean the chrome trim covering the A-pillar.
The windshield needs to come out in order to gain access to the front  screws, which usually is partly covered in old hardened sealer.
Also the chrome moldings for the rubber windows seals on the rear of the A-pillar must be removed to access a few screws there.
All in all not a quick task.

But it is the only efficient way to avoid the water ingress behind these chromes!!
