Throttle body hose attachment corroded, how to repair?
« on: July 13, 2014, 11:39:38 »
I have just replaced the short rubber hose that attaches the crankcase breather tube to the throttle body, (MB part no 1270940491) on my 1964 230SL. Both the metal tubes to which each end connects were rusted right through and in very poor shape. I can get a replacement pipe for the crankcase end but do not know what to do about the throttle body end, it seems a very short ?steel pipe extends from the throttle body ?aluminium and this has corroded. I have managed to get the hose back on and it is functioning OK but I don't know how long its going to last before the throttle body attachment disintegrates. Advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Howard
