Bodium classic car show
« on: June 15, 2014, 15:42:24 »
Spotted a 230SL Auto (1965) dark blue at Bodium classic car show today. I was there in my dark blue 250SL as well, but didn't get to park next to each other as I was a late booking.

From the pictures, the car looks to have been restored, and to be in fairly good visual condition.

What was strange was that the car seemed to have been fitted with press studs for what I assume would be a tonneau cover…..

I didn't get to speak to the owner, but left a card.

Charles,
We have a colleague in Warsaw that has exactly the same studs with a series of a slightly thinner studs on the dashboard that are there for the tonneau. This tonneau looks quite peculiar too, as when installed makes the car look like a old circuit racer  :)
The one on your pictures has the dashboard studs removed probably as the result of the restauration.
