Brake Switch Stop on Pedal availability
« on: July 22, 2014, 14:03:51 »
Folks,

For those of you who hear that annoying "clunk" when you release your brake pedal, you probably have a nylon disk that has disintegrated between the brake light switch and the pedal.  It is P/N 1132920041 from Mercedes Benz, and is No Longer Available (NLA)  from the dealers.  It was a $25 part.  ON the EPC, it is item 271 on the instrument diagram, to the left of the fusebox, and below the tach.

Rusty at Buds Benz came to the rescue and got me one from Germany(in a MB sealed plastic bag) for the same price (+ shipping).  Thank you Rusty.

Just thought you should know.

Hi Mike,
be glad you could still get one even at a stiff price.

Alfred,

"Guess who" is going to help me  I'll at least take off the steering wheel.  We're doing the auto shifter gate, and bushings as well, and a new left mirror, as it's pretty cloudy.

Will I ever be done?????

I am sure Joe remembers the moaning and groaning we heard from Dave when he replaced it on my 280SL.  :D

Yes, I still remember the moaning and groaning, now if I could only remember which tool he said worked just right to install it!
