Interesting Mercedes Restoration Guys
« on: August 19, 2014, 14:13:55 »
These guys don't do Pagodas, but they seem to do really nice work - originality die-hards.  Mostly diesels but others too.

That's J.G. Francis.  He has managed to turn the acquisition of low mileage original paint cars into a profitable business.  He's good at getting his name and reputation out.  I've sold him parts before, nice guy.  Very good at marketing himself.

They do have some pretty MB's I must admit being a bit partial to the 123 coupes.

There was an article back in February, 2014 in Road and Track on one Becky Chernoff http://www.beckichernoff.com who claims to be the buyer/finder for these guys, Mercedes Motoring of Glendale.
From my sources in California, she has a bit of a questionable reputation and it has been said her strong suit is self-promotion; that should be obvious by having R&T have an article on you.
I know personally one of the people who wrote a nice comment on their testimonial page…and would tend to believe what he says since he is a pretty savvy buyer and knowledgable collector, albeit with deep pockets.

I know of "Becky" - I had one interaction with her and it was presented as if she worked for JG.
