Does anybody know this Air conditioning ? it is very seldom, I didn`t find it in other cars here in Germany.
It is very small one, only in the middle under the dashbord. It is not the normal equipment from Frigiking.

I agree, looks great. I like how the dome light has been moved to the bottom of the AC unit instead of above the driver's knee... Where did you get this photo? I would love to know where the rest of the AC guts are hidden - this is too small to be the entire interior unit...

Looking at that does make me wonder where the evaporator has been mounted as there would be no room behind the vents unless the entire heater box was replaced.

OK, so it looks like it's all there, just a smaller vent assembly. Interesting color combinations on your car... red, blue, tan interior? Interior pics please?

I had my AC taken out it is dead weight. When my father got the car it was European delivery. It was not until he made an appointment with the factory story Hollywood Mercedes-Benz that it was in stalled : over the years he modified thee unit inside thee car. I had Jerry Hjeltness and Bob Gunther take the unit out from the engine bay and restore were the alternator is suppose to go with the right fan and bolts for the water pump that was replaced.
Bob Gunthor took the inside unite out put the rubber plugs on the passenger side and fire wall Jerry put a new piece they hacked into preventing me from gettin my hands cut to change the air filter. I am very happy know . I also took Michael Salami suggestion and put 6 inch 300SD aluminum wheels that look like steel wheels and weight 1210 Pounds each instead of 40 pounds. now it truly is lighter and more fun to drive. I wish some day I can get the kolker with the correcct white walls and curb guards they weer made by firestone the new one ar HR rated 185HR14.
Well that is my opinion about AC in an SL.I hope imy opinion did not scare you away from finding an AC unite and correct parts for you SL.
Sincerely
Bob Geco

I second Bob Geko’s comments and also had my airconditioning taken out. Lightens up the car and reduces the drain on power and I think they are just plain ugly.
Maybe if you live in Florida
or just enjoy the wind in your face

Clearly made to fit the 113. BUT not one of the two originally installed by the Mercedes-Benz dealers (as close to "factory air" as it gets) those were of course the underdash units we have all seen "Kuhlmeister and Fridgeking . That is some sort of aftermarket...more recent than the others judging by the look of the moulded plastic. What brand name is anyones guess. On the bright side though, it make work better than the correct units where nearly all of the air was delivered to the passengers knees and very little to the driver!
