Chris Evans
« on: October 12, 2014, 13:15:48 »
So Chris Evans has quote "invested in a 1970 Mercedes 280SL Pagoda, which I think may be the best
classic car I've ever driven. She's solid yet crisp, elegant yet practical, surprisingly sprightly even though she sports a relatively
underpowered engine and automatic gearbox. An all-round brilliant and absolutely beautiful motor"......."likely to double in value
in 5 years"

He paid circa £90000

I guess the secrets out now :-\ :)

Hi Larry, it must be the second one he has owned, he sold the blue one at Anglia auctions last year...wonder where he got this new one.
For you guys who dont live in the UK Chris Evans is radio/chat show host with a fantastic collection of cars (like a ginger Jay Leno)

Well what he says about the return value is quite true. I am estimating within next 12-18months we will be seeing these cars for quarter million. My next estimate is within 5 to 7 years these cars will selling for cool half million. The prices for these cars are all over the place right now and still steadily rising but sure good sound investment. We all might make comments about some of the asking prices but end of day the more they rise so will our own Pagodas rise in value which is defiantly good thing for when we want to finally retire lol.

I presume you are kidding? I wouldn't be able to afford the repairs anymore...

Chris lives in Sunningdale or Ascot.

So probably got jealous of all those fantastic cars whizzing through his neighbourhood one Saturday in September...

Mission accomplished, I think ;)
