Hi Everyone,
Forgive me Im a novice - I have a 250sl currently undergoing some work in my friends garage - basically he is confused as both doors still "move" 3mm each way when shut.... Strange that they both have an identical problem eh?
Now I must admit the rubbers were not on the doors but even though we put the original rubbers back on we still have the same problem; the door lock/mechanism has been removed on both doors and i cannot see any obvious defect other than the 'disc' which 'bites' onto the closing mechanism "moves" when in the locked position i.e. 2nd stage of locking.
Im confused, very. Either it means new/fresh door rubber as recommended by Cees Klumper (thanks Cees!) or new locking mechanisms?....
