Hi all, I notice in a quick brake application the front wheels give a slight wobble and then the car tracks and brakes fine to a stop.  When I bought the car two years ago I was told the king pins had a little play in them while car was on lift.  Mechanic stated could not feel it when driving.  That was about 2000 miles ago.  This occurs only while braking quickly.  I've had the car up to 80 mph and steady as a rock, no vibration.  It's a US '70 280sl.  Any suggestions?

Check your front brake calipers to see if the brake pads are sliding freely.  Your front rotors could also be warped.

Hello jakl,
The front brake hoses can also cause this kind of symptom. They begin to restrict, liked clogged arteries. Fluid will flow quickly to one caliper and more slowly through the other. After initial braking, the calipers fill and the brakes work evenly.

I'd agree the w/ rotors being the probable cause
