Side windows
« on: February 07, 2015, 12:46:00 »
Today I removed the driver side door panel trying to chase why my side windows move so much when fully closed. I found that both front and rear aluminium jaw guides were missing and that the glass slides in a U felted guide. Now, even if I purchased new jaws they would not fit the guides because of the thick felt that covera them.
Can anybody give me any recommendation to fix things up?

Dante, Start by going to the Technical Manual and search "windows". Here is the link http://www.sl113.org/wiki/ChassisBody/Windows
If you need additional help, do a search in the body section forum. I think you will probably want to replace the window felt brushes at the same time.

Thanks for your feedback. I suppose that the previous owner did the Bud's Benz mod. I read elsewhere in the forum that this mod can't prevent window side to side movement when in the upper position. I would not like to begin a repair that even in the best case would not completely fix the issue.
