Fuse No.6 blows on start up

Hi all,
I hope one of you guys will be able to help. I have just become aware that on start up fuse number 6 blows. Therefore the heater blower
Does not work. Replacing the fuse, turning the ignition on, but not starting up, the heater blower functions normally. It is only when
I turn the key to start does the fuse blow. It blows when the heater blower is switched off, and also blows when running on start up.
So anyone have any ideas?

Doesn't F6 also power the starting aids (pump solenoid and cold start valve) that are activated when you crank the starter?  The problem could be in the relays or the CSV or the solenoid, or the wiring.  I'd suspect that there is a short to ground somewhere.

Hi CT,
I have since discovered, it is somehow related to the relays. I have (as discussed in another post) a 4th relay that is connected to the CSV relay via a piggyback type
connector. if the 4th relay is unplugged the fuse is okay. the car starts and runs fine. (it did even with fuse 6 blown, although a little slower on cold starts).
most opinions would suggest that unplugging the 4th relay would have no detrimental effect.
so this is what I have done as temp fix. Once I get hold of a multi meter I can investigate further. I suspect the piggyback wire / connector.

That sounds like the "hot start" fix added to some cars.  It provides an extra shot of fuel from the CSV when the engine is hot to improve starting.  You should be able to remove the piggyback connector and plug the CSV relay back into the harness.
