I'll have to see if that is available in the USA...
Daughter is now totally obsessed with the UK Top Gear, watching multiple episodes a day even while doing homework. (Streams on both Netflix and Amazon Prime, though Netflix just dropped a bunch of seasons) Total obsession, and she's actually learning something about all the cars, too...
I'm sure this Classic Car Show, like most British imports on television is well done.

You won't like Quentin talking about the Mustang/US...
But for a first episode it comes over quite well - and tough without the audience and banter that seems to define the genre as per TG

I do not like the Mustang. We had a wonderful opportunity a couple of years ago--my wife brought home for the weekend, a Shelby Mustang GT350 Laguna Seca edition. The car had so much power, and the clutch so stiff (6 speed manual) that it cramped my wife's leg, she couldn't drive it. Me, I decided I'd end up getting a ticket or killing someone, or myself, it was so damned powerful. Senseless amounts of unbridled horsepower.
Rather than keep it for the weekend we took it back to Ford HQ on Saturday afternoon and picked up the daily driver.  :o  It just was NOT a car meant for the tasks of driving around town, doing errands or anything. It's for the track, the drag strip, to show off, or to collect. It wasn't comfortable either...and the roads are so bad here, that it made its harsh ride a nightmare.

NOW, what were you saying about me not liking something?  ;)

Yes, sorry James.
Note to myself-log onto our great group site more often.
Most of my school reports mentioned the words  "easily distracted" and "does not pay attention".

This series looks like a decent enough effort.  There are 11 shows so should be something for everyone.  Quentin Wilson is a bit unctuous though - reminds me of Swiss Tony.

Interestingly, in this video you hear the effects of wind, crisps of tyres, but not the engine... which is the opposite from when I drive my Pagoda....

The car in front of which Jodie stands is the car that was used on the lap and is currently also on show at MB Land at Brooklands. It's very nice indeed and pretty perfect.

It all depends where the microphone is. I reckon it's on the camera behind the driver, in the full wind, and ahead of the exhaust.

There are many more clips of the Pagoda after the clip I posted originally ... Including the red barn find

Stan, Peter is quite right it all depends on where the mic was located.

It was interesting watching Senna deal with the understeer and the bouncy recovery of the soft cantilever suspension.  Given the power of the cars he's used to vs. a Pagoda, you might excuse him from repeatedly looking down to see what gear he was in.  I'd like to have seen the lap from outside as well.

I haven't seen the Classic Car Show but I bet our cars were treated with respect even while being criticized for pretending to be a sports car.  You can love a Pagoda for the styling, the hardtop, the craftsmanship, the nostalgia or all of those.  They do no one thing exceptionally, but they do most everything very, very well.
