front wheel bearings

Going to check the front wheel bearings on my 65 230SL,I do not have a problem with them but I have the 18 yrs
and never checked them apart from taking the caps off to renew the grease.how often should they be removed and
fresh grease put in.what is the correct grease,from what I can gather no special tools are needed? Are they standard bearings
used on other Applications, Many thanks.Mike

Hi, Mike,

I used the wheel brg kit from 'Febi' (05422)
Includes 2 brgs and inner seal and grease cap which I did not use.
Buy original MB wheel brg grease from a dealer (002 989 0051 10).
