Good Chrome platers?
« on: March 31, 2015, 08:37:07 »
Hi Guys
I need my rear bumpers replating and a little reshaping as the original owner has backed the car into his garage wall a few times!
Could anyone please recommend a good triple platers in the Midlands UK (other than Derby platers)?

Many thanks

Allenchrome in Pocklington north Yorkshire.
They did every chrome part on my car last year.
Very very reasonable price and the facility and set up they have is first class, as is the product.
They call the main guy Dave .
I was only going to get half of my chrome done but when he priced it up i got such a pleasant suprise i gave him the lot to do.
I cannot recommend them enough.

Marque Restore, Coventry do a very good job, I have had several sets done by them, worth a call.

I used Castle Chrome (Birmingham area) over winter for mine.

I wasn't impressed, had to send some bits back and they made the same mistake twice, poor quality control.

Its as good to know those NOT to use.

The only 6 items i did not re-chrome were front and rear Bumpers ( i bought the S/S reproductions, dont ask ), the 2 fresh air vents ( as they were perfect ) and the 2 tail
light surrounds because they were pot metal and they advised me they would not turn out well.
I asked them to chrome the wheel trims but they pointed out they were stainless and would not chrome.
However they went on to polish out the kerb marks and polish the stainless trims to a mirror finish better than anything that left the factory.
I was over the moon with them.
Like i said , all this at a fantastic price.
They mainly deal with large orders of industrial chrome but do orders like mine out of interest.
This keeps the price down and they are not out to rip of the classic car enthusiast like so many others.
Some prices i was quoted you would swear you were getting gold plating done.
I have no conection with them .
