transmission neutral switch

My 230 SL will start with the shift lever in any position. There is a cable that runs from the transmission to a lever on the cowl. I am sure that this is the switch for the back-up lights and the neutral safety switch. My problem is that I cannot find the switch on the wiring diagram. The back-up light switch is on there.

 My plan is to try to follow the wire colors to determine which ones go to the switch.

I have a service disc but my new computer will not run it. I will get my old out and try it.

Just wanted to vent.

If you take a look at the US version 280 SL diagram it shows that item 48 is the lockout and back up switch. I believe this is item 37 on the 230 SL diagram. Will need a confirmation on this one from the more electrically experienced folks!
