windshield glass polishing
« on: October 05, 2022, 12:40:35 »
The original windshield on my 65 230SL has very fine pitting. Has anyone had success with glass polishing?

I looked at this a while ago and watched some videos (YouTube). Plenty of vids to watch and resources for this.
I declined to try, since many of the pits after 20 years of "highway sand blasting" were pretty deep. I didn't think these could be polished out.
It's quite labor intensive, but I suppose worth a try. The only thing you have to lose is your time and the cost of the kits/polish/pads.

I decided a new windshield was a better option for me. So, my car is on windshield #3.

Thanks Michael. I love originality, but it might be time to bite the bullet and go with new glass.
