Gap between rotor and cap terminals

Does anybody knows what the gap between the rotor and the terminals inside the cap is?
I did measure it and the distance is about 1.6mm.
I think it is quite large and wondering if is responsible for misfiring.
Also, there is a bit radial play when turning the rotor, a few mm.
Is that normal?

It is a significant problem as this affects dwell.
IMHO, go buy a 123 unit and install this (esp. since you live in the Netherlands   ;-)

Thanks Hans. I do have a 123.
In the manual they advice some Bosch caps, but some of them are not available anymore.

But... then I do not understand. As your 123 unit is newly bought and those bearings last well, how can your rotor axle have mm's of radial play...?

Is the Bosch distributor cap supplied with your 123 unit worn out already(?)
If so, ask 123 and I'm sure they can supply a new one for you.

Sorry, i typed radial play, my fault.
I meant that turning the rotor CW and CCW there is a few mm free movement.
I have a Beru cap and rotor. When i measure there is about 1.6mm space between rotor and the cap terminals i suspect that this can cause misfiring because it's quite a large gap.
