Cost to Rebuild 4 Speed Transmission 280 SL

Any one have any idea of the cost to have a 1969 280 sl 4 speed manual transmission rebuilt? Looks like I might be heading in that direction soon.

On a more serious note think about buying a 2nd hand unit which you can swap for your current box and then get your old box rebuilt in your own time or rebuild it yourself

In the UK I suspect the prices would start around £500 and thats just for the build not the labour to get the box out and back in

I second Malc's opinion. You should be able to find a good used transmission for a couple of hundred dollars. I think the manual transmissions from all 113's will fit and the 108's and 110's 111's too - except for the top cover which you could transfer from yours.
