WRD question
« on: August 30, 2015, 04:04:08 »
Hi All,

Hoping some-one can educate me here....

With a very early 230SL (1st registered in 1964), with reference to the attached photos, is it possible to remove/adjust the steel plunger (and steel plunger nut) within the brass slug?   Does one have to remove the very small roll pin, or is there a nice easy way?  I suspect that possibly the early 230's had a different WRD to later models (with the WRD shared with other marques using the Bosch injection system)?.

Any thoughts appreciated.

With thanks

Steven

Since you're not getting any replies, I'll take a shot at it.  I took a 230's apart several years ago.  To remove the air slide, I think you need to remove the pin and the adjuster which I believe is used to adjust the starting point of the slide.  The whole thing will be easier if you take to rest of the WRD off the pump.  Be sure to keep track of the shims.
