Some say "You should see the other guy" not a good day!

Not a good day indeed today ... All I can say I'm.happy no one in the two cars got injured (two elderly Gentlemen in the VW) of the three people involved in the accident. Also, (after establishing no one was injured) my mind flashed immediately to my Pagoda thinking "man am I glad my blue turnado is safely in the garage and I did not take her out today"

I was traveling at posted speed in the left lane of a four lane city street (posted speed limit 60 kph) when a VW also traveling in his left lane from the opposing side of traffic decided to make a left turn into the main entrance of a sematery and into my lane. I was unable to stop in time. The result was his front end is totaled and my left front fender, headlight, rim and tire toast.

I am thankful that some years ago I took defensive driving, I think it saved me today from t-boning the little VW and avoiding injuries. My quick right then left maneuver brought me to a stop on the sidewalk and not head on with. The 3 X 3 foot stone post planted in my driving direction while trying to avoid a more serious accident with the VW. The VW driver asked me "Are you okay?" Then followed by saying  "I am so very sorry Sir I did not see you comming, I wanted to make a u-turn ... I am so sorry"

Indeed, glad you are okay! And glad that the defensive driving helped. I think that is one of the best things that the MB Club of America sponsors. And they encourage teenagers to participate.

 There is a risk we all take whenever we get behind the wheel and I am very glad you are OK. I had a similar experience many years ago in my 250SL when an opposing driver suddenly made a left turn in front of me but i had no place to go but into her passenger door. The front end of SL collapsed as it was designed to do and no injuries to either party. Glad your Blue Tornado was in the garage.

Not that driving in London Ontario is any worse than any other medium sized city, but I was also hit there about two years ago. Old lady ass ended me............ and totaled my ( 126 300SE ) car. I was also OK.

Getting my car back on Friday ... The repair estimate was over $22K including our 13% taxes. The most expensive parts were a new front left light $2,250- and a new front left rim $1250- I guess our Pagoda parts are not the only ones being super expensive.

I wonder what the final bill will be, glad I am NOT paying it.

All accidents are a pain in the neck, I will have been 4 weeks without my DD and I know it will bite me in the ass if I ever trade her in (the loss in value due to the accident will be at least $5K) I figure, oh well what can one due. I have no plans to sell her just love that C6.3 AMG

I had a ride in this car last spring and I had to see my dentist the next day.

With some insurance companies, you can also claim for loss of value.  Ask, they don't volunteer it.
